Welcome To Neil Carter Driving School
Providing lessons in the Leeds & Wakefield areas since 2002Fully Approved DVSA Driving Instructor
My main aim as your driving instructor is to train & develop you into a confident and competent driver who can then go on and pass the driving test. As the DVSA’s logo states – ‘Safe Driving for Life’ not just for your driving test!
I qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in May 2002 and began my career with the AA Driving School. After 18 months I decided to take the plunge and become an independent driving instructor and have never looked back.
As a DVSA requirement, I have undergone the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check in order to remain on the register for approved driving instructors. I am also bound by the DVSA’s professional code of conduct.
I have also signed up to the DVSA’s voluntary commitment to Continued Professional Development (CPD) showing my commitment to furthering myself professionally throughout my career as an ADI.
I am a member of the Pontefract Driving Instructor’s Association (PDIA) and the Driving Instructor’s Association (DIA), the largest association for instructors in the UK. All members have representation to the DVSA, DVLA, DVA and Parliament, as well as other relevant bodies in the UK and abroad. All instructors have both Professional and Public Liability insurance cover worth £3m and £5m respectively.
My Social Life
I am a big sports fan and love watching football, rugby league, cricket and darts, to mention just a few. I also love walking, usually locally, but then further afield on holidays to the Lakes, Isle of Skye and Cornwall. I love craft ales (quality not quantity) and if there’s one waiting at the end of a walk, then perfect! I also like to draw, usually in ink and usually beer related. My greatest love, though, is music, usually rock but not always & love going to occasional gig. All the above usually include or revolve around family and friends too.
